Dr. Rachael Arbeit
Doctor of Physical Therapy
When dealing with chronic pain or recurring injuries, the standard approach often focuses on treating the symptoms—icing a sore knee, stretching a tight back, or resting an aching shoulder. But what if the pain isn't the problem, but just a signal?
The Symptom vs. The Source
Root-cause physical therapy shifts the focus from "where does it hurt?" to "why does it hurt?". A systems-based approach looks at the body as an interconnected chain. For instance, knee pain might actually stem from poor hip mobility or ankle instability. If we only treat the knee, the pain will inevitably return once you resume your normal activities.
Building Lasting Resilience
By identifying and addressing the underlying biomechanical flaws, we can eliminate the true source of the stress. This not only resolves the current pain but builds long-term resilience, preventing future injuries and allowing you to move with confidence.
